Are your simulator packages customizable?

How much space do I need?

Golf Simulator Ceiling Height and Space Requirements

This is the most common question we receive from customers building out their golf simulator for the first time. But the answer is a bit like your golf swing - it varies! It depends on factors like your height and your swing, as well as what equipment you want to use (like enclosure size, launch monitor, hitting mat or SimGreen, etc.).

While there's not a one-size-fits-all answer, a typical simulator setup can fit in most spaces as long as it meets some minimum requirements:

  1. At least 9' ceilings
  2. 16' of depth
  3. And 12' wide

These are just our general minimum requirements. The more space you have the better! It's very important that you make sure you can swing a driver in your space comfortably. It's common to need higher than 9' ceilings (like us!).

How do I pick the right golf simulator?

Choosing the right golf simulator is completely dependent on your needs and available space. There are a few important things to consider:

  • Budget
  • Portable Launch Monitor vs Overhead Launch Monitor
  • Available Space
  • Safety features
  • Golf Simulation Software
  • Do you want an ultra-realistic experience? Or just a setup to work on your swing?

Considering these factors should help you narrow down your search, allowing you to choose the right simulator for your needs. Can I put together my simulator myself?

Yes, it is absolutely a project that most can tackle by themselves! But we do recommend an extra set of hands, it will cut your installation time in half.

How long does it take to setup my golf simulator? 

Generally, golf simulator enclosures take our average customer about 1-2 hours to complete, depending on if you have another set of hands, regardless of size.

Getting your BenQ golf simulator projector mounted and setup can take another hour, depending on which option you choose.

The time it takes to set up your launch monitor will vary depending on the launch monitor itself. For example, some portable launch monitors may only take a few minutes to setup. Whereas overhead launch monitors require a bit more time and labor.

Typically, it takes anywhere from 3-5 hours to complete a golf simulator installation.

Scratch Golf offered the Net Return Pro series V2 for about $100 less than anywhere else I could find on the internet. Shipping was fast, setup east, and the quality inspires confidence. I would recommend getting the side barriers just as a precaution, I have hit several hundred balls and not had one stray but it only takes one. Highly recommend this setup through Scratch golf.

The ProTee VX is excellent! The stats are spot on. It's super easy to setup and use. The live capture video helps you make sense of the data, especially the contact location of the ball on the club face. The seamless integration with Simulator software like TGC2019 and GSPro makes this unit a must have. Not having to move around a LM around for left handed players is also great. The ProTee Labs Support is a joy to work with if you have questions, plus there is a growing number of FB groups with VX owners who are happy to help out a new user. This unit is on the same level as some of the more recognized name brands but the price point is wonderful.
