Launch Monitor

A launch monitor is the sensor technology that tracks your ball and club at impact, measuring speed, spin, launch angle, and path. It converts your real swing into data that drives the simulation on screen.

Launch monitors use either camera-based photometric technology (capturing images of the ball at launch), radar-based Doppler tracking (measuring ball flight via radio waves), or infrared sensor arrays. Photometric units are ideal for indoor use since they only need a few feet of ball flight. Radar units can work both indoors and outdoors but may need more space behind the ball.

Photometric (Camera-Based)

Uses high-speed cameras to capture ball and club data at impact. Best for indoor use. Examples: Uneekor, Foresight GCQuad, ProTee VX.

Radar (Doppler)

Tracks the ball in flight using radar waves. Works indoors and outdoors. Examples: TrackMan, FlightScope, Garmin R10.

Infrared / Multi-Sensor

Combines infrared sensors with other tech for overhead or mat-level tracking. Examples: Uneekor EYE XO2, QED.
