Projector
Bringing Your Simulation to LifeThe projector displays the simulator software image onto your impact screen. Golf simulators require short-throw or ultra-short-throw projectors because the projector sits close to the screen (typically 5-12 feet away) and needs to fill a large image.
Key specs for simulator projectors: throw ratio (lower = closer mounting), lumens (brighter = better in ambient light), resolution (1080p minimum, 4K ideal), contrast ratio (deeper blacks), and input lag (lower = more responsive). Mounting position (ceiling vs. floor, behind vs. in front of player) affects which projector geometry works.
Short-Throw (0.5-1.0 ratio)
Projects a large image from 5-10 feet away. The most common choice for simulators. Ceiling-mounted behind or above the player.
Ultra-Short-Throw (under 0.5 ratio)
Can project from just 1-3 feet from the screen. Floor-mounted below the screen. Eliminates shadows but can be hit by chips.
Standard Throw (1.0+ ratio)
Requires more distance (10+ feet). Only viable in deeper rooms. Often cheaper but harder to position in typical simulator spaces.
